# What are Coins?

Coins are social tokens that represent a brand, individual, or community. Coins give creators the power of their own digital economy, independent from any specific platform and allow creators to connect with their community like never before.

Creators can use their Coin to reward their communities for their loyalty, engagement, and participation enabling deeper, more meaningful connections.

To see how creators on Rally are using their Coin, check out our [Creator Stories on the Rally Blog](https://rally.io/articles?tag=creatorStories) to look at in-depth features of how creators are experimenting with their Coin and what they are building for their communities.

If you are a Creator in the process of launching a new Coin with us, we will work with you to select your Coin launch window.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://wiki.rally.io/rally-io/101/what-are-coins.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
